There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best. He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men. He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and infect is the merchant’s confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times. Now, the merchant’s 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father going and coming in the hall waiting for the doctor. Once seeing him, the dad yelled: “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together. He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. God had arranged events and placed people in your life for a reason. Every person that you meet serves a purpose in your life. In the same way, you have been appointed to be part of someone's life for a reason as well. Make that reason count, because for every life you touch, you are gaining treasure for your own.

2 Cor. 5:17 " if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone the new has come" Indeed, believing in God changes so many things. The old life has gone.. the insecurities, the pessimistic view of life, the unforgiveness, the hate, the worries. New life starts to grow in oneself.. life full of hope, joy. With this rapid change, people start to persecute. they try to discourage me to do the activities which would widen and deepen my knowledge about God. Some would say its craziness to attend the Bible studies. Some say its laziness to attend the Sunday service. Sayang daw ang oras na mauubos lang sa pag uupo sa simbahan. That was April of 1994.. a very hot summer. All I was thinking is the work in the field. Its time to help our parents in the field. But God had made a plan for me. I got an invitation for a summer youth camp to be held in Piwong Evangelical Church and all expense paid. So I attended the camp. It was during this camp that I encountered God in my life. I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. And my walk with Him began on that very day. 2 Cor. 5:17 was the theme verse of the camp. It had so much impact in my life. "Therefor if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come" Indeed, it was the new beginning of my life and my family. It was the door that opened so many blessing and miracles in our lives. My parent's approval for me to attend the youth camp was a miracle. Allow me to elaborate. Those beautiful mountains shadowing the rice terraces. When sun rise breaks the dawn. It symbolizes new hope. The neighborhood are busy. Some are pounding rice. Some are going to the spring to fetch water or to bath or wash clothes. Some are having their coffee or chewing beetle nut. Some are feeding their animals. Some are going to their rice fields. Life then was so simple. Most of the works are done manually. These are the common scenes one can witness at the start of the day. One of the common scenes one can see is walkathon. One have to walk from their abode to their rice field or vegetable garden. And that would mean climbing mountains, hills descending to valleys and passing through plains. Those are good physical exercise.
